Amy is an Australian defence and strategic goods technology transfer and defence industry policy professional with 8 years’ experience in her field. Amy is co-founder and Chief Operations Officer for Export Controls Australia Group (ECAG), Australia’s first non-profit export controls and sanctions industry special interest group. ECAG is a trusted hub for industry, government, and the broader ecosystem to collaboratively navigate the complex landscape of export controls from an Australian perspective. ECAG’s mission is to inform, progress, and develop the public discourse on strategic trade, ensuring a comprehensive understanding amongst Australia’s industrial base. Amy also established the first of its kind Tri-National Export Control industry association forum between the preeminent export control associations in Australia, United States and United Kingdom, being ECAG (Aus), the Society for International Affairs (US), the Aerospace Industries Association (US) and The Export Group for Aerospace, Defence & Dual-Use (UK). This purpose of this Forum stand as a beacon of collaboration and understanding between the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, united in the commitment to fostering a secure, prosperous, and technologically advanced future through enhancing the effectiveness and sophistication of our respective export control systems.
Amy is currently the General Manager, National Security, Industry & Trade with Goal Group, an Australian professional services firm supporting Australian and overseas entities with Defence asset management, export controls, logistics and security requirements. In this role Amy is focused on supporting industry, academia and R&D organisations with compliance, strategy and process optimisation in export controls, supply chain, logistics and cyber.
Amy has a background in federal government, defence industry and professional services. Amy has previously worked in the Australian Department of Defence in roles focused on export controls, defence industry policy and defence industrial base engagement with the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. In her time in Defence, Amy was an Assistant Director in International Export Controls and in the Defence team leading on industrial base cooperation with key security partners, of which the United States was the focus. Amy also developed and led the Trade Compliance Function for a Defence maritime Prime in charge of sustainment and optimisation of critical Australian Defence maritime platforms.
Recently Amy was a Senior Manager at PwC, in the Global Trade area where she advised multinationals and SMEs in the Defence, Advanced Manufacturing and Energy, Utilities and Resources space on Trade Compliance and international and domestic supply chain optimisation. Amy has a legal background, with a LLB and Masters of International Security Law.
