Jonathan Haase was the program manager of the U.S. Navy’s Expeditionary Missions program office (PMS 408), an acquisition and project management professional, an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) officer, and a registered Scrum trainer. His work at PMS 408 focused on UUVs, remotely operated vehicles, and EOD equipment. He has also published on AI and decision making and metacognition and AI. Capt. Haase holds degrees from the U.S. Naval Academy, University of Maryland College Park, and professional certificates from Harvard.

Colin Smith

Colin Smith is a former US Marine Corps intelligence officer with specialties in Signals Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, UAS intelligence operations, and low-SWaP sensor acquisitions. In various roles he trained and certified small intelligence support teams, resulting in approximately 10 small team deployments spanning every continent except Australia and Antarctica.
Colin has also spent several years working at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) as a project officer and product manager for UAS sensors and autonomy systems. Currently Colin leads the business development effort for IMSAR, a leader in low SWaP SAR/MTI radar systems, with the US Navy, US Marine Corps, and Latin American accounts.

Commodore David Frost

Commodore David Frost is a Naval Aviator with over 30 years of service spanning tactical, operational and strategic arenas.
David has served as a Bridge Watchkeeping Officer in Fremantle Class Patrol Boats, Destroyer Escorts and Frigates, and as an Aviation Warfare Officer at 723 and 816 Squadrons. He also completed a two year exchange posting with the RAAF P3 Orion Maritime Patrol Aircraft, receiving a Chief of Air Force Commendation for a search and rescue mission.
Lieutenant Commander Frost returned to the Fleet Air Arm and Seahawk Helicopters in 2001, gaining embarked experience in HMA Ships Adelaide, Arunta and Anzac. Flight Commander tours followed in HMA Ships Darwin and Melbourne, including two operational deployments to the Middle East and a Commander Australian Theatre Commendation for his efforts during Operation FALCONER in the 2003 Iraq War. Subsequent postings included a Masters in Aerosystems in the UK, lead Seahawk flight test specialist at the RAN Flight Trials Unit (AMAFTU) and Command and Staff Course in 2008.
Upon promotion to Commander in 2009, David was appointed as the Officer in Charge of Naval Aviation Flight Test and in 2013 he assumed duties as Commanding Officer of 725 Squadron in Jacksonville, Florida, USA, introducing the MH-60R Maritime Combat Helicopter into service. This was followed by a posting to Canberra as Deputy Director Maritime Helicopters within Navy Strategic Command.
On promotion in 2018, Captain Frost was appointed the Director RAN Test and Evaluation Authority at Garden Island in Sydney, and in December 2019 he also assumed the role as Commander Australian Maritime Warfare Centre. In January 2020 Captain Frost was appointed as the inaugural Director of the Maritime Warfare Centre and also the Maritime Test and Evaluation Principal.

Commodore Gus Carnie

Commodore Gus Carnie

Known as ‘Gus’, Commodore Carnie is married to Samantha and they have two daughters, Beth and Ella.
Commodore Carnie wanted to join the Navy from 13 years old and achieved this when he was 16, initially joining HMS RALEIGH in 1992. He was fortunate enough to be ‘spotted’ and was sponsored to go back firstly to college for A-Levels and then to University before joining Britannia Royal Naval College in 1997. He initially followed his first love, driving ships and navigated HMS HURWORTH before a chance encounter saw him selected for flying training in 2001 where he qualified as a Lynx helicopter pilot. Deploying predominantly to the Gulf region, he served in HMS MARLBOROUGH for OP TELIC (Iraq), HMS GLOUCESTER for OP AQUILLA (Indian Ocean) and OP HIGHBROW (evacuations from Beirut). As Flight Commander in HMS CAMPBELTOWN he once again deployed to OP TELIC and OP CALASH in the Indian Ocean.
In June 2008 he was selected to be the Military Assistant to the Head of British Defence Staff in Washington DC – a highlight of his career including attending the inauguration of Barack Obama. He then completed an OP HERRICK (Afghanistan) deployment as Chief of Staff to the UK Joint Aviation Group, embedded in the United States Marnie Corps, before re-joining 815 NAS as the Senior Pilot in 2013.
In July 2016 he took Command of the (Lynx) Wildcat Maritime Force. Highlights included retiring the mighty Lynx Maritime Attack helicopter after 40 years of service and delivery of the final Wildcat Maritime Attack helicopter to the RN to commence worldwide deployments.
On promotion in March 2019 he deployed to Kabul as a Senior Advisor to the Afghan National Police as a Captain. Overseeing the wholescale professionalisation of the police force, he was awarded the Queen’s Commendation for Valuable Service in the Operational Honours List. He then completed a short appointment at the Military Aviation Authority before being selected as the First Sea Lord’s ‘right hand man’ in November 2021as Military Assistant and Principal Staff Officer.
Between 2023-2024 Commodore Carnie attended the Royal College of Defence Studies, the Ministry of Defence’s premier professional training course.
Outside of work, Commodore Carnie is a keen Motorsports enthusiast in the Royal Navy Royal Marines Off-Road Team. This mainly involves breaking Land Rovers and getting others to fix them; much like being a pilot. He also runs (voluntarily) Spirit Gymnastics Academy with over 350 gymnasts competing at the national level, including both his daughters.

Don Craig

Don Craig

Don Craig is the Global Subsea Technology Manager at bp, based in Houston, Texas.

In this role, which he assumed in 2021, Don is responsible for guiding the advancement of bp’s subsea technology capabilities through strategic investments, industry partnerships, and workforce development targeted towards solving bp’s highest priority operational business challenges. Additionally, he provides technical leadership and vision for distributed fiber optic sensing (DFOS) initiatives working with the subsurface and wells business functions.

Don oversees subsea technology investments, drives innovation, and supports technologies that benefit bp’s subsea projects. He actively engages with industry and academic partners to drive collaborative research and technology transfer efforts.
Before his current position, Don was a project manager at bp in 2012 and named product owner for distributed fiber optic sensing in 2019. His industry leadership includes serving as a Sanctuary Advisory Council member for NOAA’s Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary; board member of DeepStar Technology Consortium; safety section chair for the AWS D3B subcommittee on underwater welding; and steering team member for fiber optic sensing with Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

Before joining bp, Don spent seven years with Aker Solutions as Vice President, where he led subsea umbilicals and lifecycle services businesses, earning two external Manufacturing of the Year awards. Earlier in his career, Don dedicated sixteen years to ocean-related defense and government projects, including a role as program manager for the Diving and Diving Related Services contract with NAVSEA 00C Supervisor of Salvage and Diving. A career highlight came in April 1998, when Don and two colleagues at Oceaneering received the Environmental Hero Award from NOAA and the Vice President of the United States.

Don holds a B.S. in Oceanographic Technology from Florida Institute of Technology, with additional academic studies at IMD, University of Manchester (UK), and George Washington University. He holds accreditation as an Agile coach and project management practitioner.

Dr. Joe Calantoni

Dr. Joe Calantoni

Dr. Joe Calantoni is the technical director at Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (CNMOC) where he serves as the CNMOC and Task Group 80.7 principal civilian manager and technical advisor. The enterprise has 2,900 active duty and reserve military personnel; federal civilians; and contractors across 13 subordinate commands at 60 locations globally who define and apply the physical environment to warfighting, from the bottom of the ocean to the stars.

Dr. Calantoni entered the Senior Executive Service in August 2023. He joined the Federal Civilian Service in 2004 as a research physicist at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) where he remained until 2023. From 2009 to 2021, he was Head of the Sediment Dynamics Section where he was responsible for the execution of a broad research portfolio focused on the physical, mechanical, and acoustical properties of seafloor, estuarine, and riverine sediments using a combination of high performance computing, detailed laboratory measurements, and field observations. In 2021, he became Head of the Seafloor Sciences Branch with a mission to provide the understanding, description, modeling, and quantitative prediction of sedimentary boundary layers in terms that relate to Naval systems design, construction, and operations. During his tenure at NRL he was the Deputy Director for the NavalX Gulf Coast Tech Bridge, a member of the NATO Planning and Evaluation Joint Research Project for mine warfare at the Center for Maritime Research and Experimentation, and the recipient of the 2015 Project of the Year award for Munitions Response from the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program. He has co-authored 60 peer-reviewed scientific publications in addition to over 30 technical reports and proceedings manuscripts.

Prior to joining the Federal Civilian Service, Dr. Calantoni was a postdoctoral investigator in the National Research Council Research Associateship Program studying bedload transport processes in the surf zone of sandy beaches from 2002 to 2004.
Dr. Calantoni received the Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the Pennsylvania State University and the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Physics from North Carolina State University.

James Day

Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Mission Systems, US Navy
James Day

Mr. James L. Day Jr. has dedicated over 32 years to serving the United States Navy in various capacities. He was selected to the Senior Executive Service in August 2020. Mr. Day presently serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Mission Systems. In this role Mr. Day oversees the development and management of policies for the research, development, acquisition, production, and life-cycle management of Naval Mission and Weapon Systems. This includes business mission area capabilities, communications, networks, Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, cybersecurity, tactical data links, command and control, weapons, sensor, and Integrated Combat Systems undersea, afloat and ashore from the tactical edge to the Operational and Strategic levels of command. He establishes integration, cyber security, and modularity standards, provides acquisition policy, oversight, advocacy and guidance to Program Executive Offices, and collaborates with senior Naval and Department of Defense officials to ensure interoperability, policy and strategy alignment. Mr. Day also liaises with industry, academia, research centers, and international agencies, and advises the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for congressional testimony and international steering committees.
Mr. Day previously held the position of Deputy Director of the Surface Warfare Division (OPNAV N96B) on the Chief of Naval Operations’ staff. In this role, he supported the development, integration, and resourcing of a $30 billion annual portfolio, covering the manpower, training, sustainment, modernization, and procurement needs of the Navy's Surface Warfare systems, including ships, weapons, combat systems, and sensors.
Before his tenure at OPNAV, Mr. Day served as the Director of Production, Deployment, and Fleet Readiness within the Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS). He also held the position of Deputy Program Manager for the Guided Missile Frigate Construction Program (PMS 515), where he oversaw significant program milestones, including awarding one of the largest openly competed ship construction contracts in Navy history.
Mr. Day's experience extends to the staff of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition (ASN RD&A), where he provided oversight and guidance for all Navy Above Water Sensors and Laser Weapon Systems. His previous roles include Principal Acquisition Program Manager for LCS Combat Systems, lead for DDG 51 Combat System Ship Integration, and lead for AN/SQQ-89(V) Advanced Development and Production in PEO IWS. He has also held numerous leadership positions at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI.
A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Day served from 1992-1998, achieving the rank of Sonar Technician, Second Class. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Roger Williams University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Additionally, Mr. Day is a graduate of the Executive Program Managers Course at Defense Acquisition University and the Executive Leadership Certification Program at Cornell University.

Jeremiah Mendez

Jeremiah Mendez

Jeremiah Mendez is a seasoned engineering leader with over two decades of experience in product development, fiber optic systems, and undersea technologies. As Senior Director of Engineering and Manufacturing at Ocean Power Technologies, he oversees the design, build, and deployment of cutting-edge autonomous maritime platforms that support offshore defense and energy operations.

His expertise spans fiber optics, telecommunications, product lifecycle management, testing, project planning, and systems integration. Prior to OPT, Jeremiah held senior roles in undersea apparatus qualification and advanced cable technologies, contributing to multiple patents, including:
• Coupling multiple conductor undersea optical cable (US 2011/0188803 A1)
• Optical cable shield layer connection (US 2007/0269169 A1)

He is also a recipient of the TE Innovations Award for DCC Joints and Couplings, recognizing his technical leadership at TE SubCom.

Jeremiah holds a Master of Science in Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Kirstin Schauble

Kirstin Schauble is the Director of Systems Engineering at ANELLO Photonics, leading the development and integration of Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS). She holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Seattle University where she also competed as a Division 1 women's volleyball athlete. Her work in semiconductors, sensors, machine learning, and autonomous vehicles has resulted in several high-impact publications and patents. Kirstin is passionate about combining innovative research with a disciplined systems engineering approach to develop impactful technologies.

Prior to Leonardo DRS Kyle spent 20 years within broader Raytheon Company in a variety of technical and program leadership roles covering Land, Air, Sea, Cyber, and Space domains across the full product lifecycle. Margaret Materna

Margaret Materna is the Deputy Director of the National Security Law Division for the Office of the JAG, U.S. Department of the Navy, a position in which she has served since 2018. In this capacity, she oversees the Division’s efforts to support the Fleets and advise the Judge Advocate General and senior Navy leaders on National Security Law, with a particular focus on legal issues related to navigation in the Arctic domain, robotic and autonomous systems, and military uses of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center. Margaret previously served as Special Advisor to an Assistant Secretary of the Army; Legislative Counsel to two U.S. Senators; Associate Director of Legislative Affairs at a trade association; and as a Foreign Policy and Defense Legislative Analyst for Bloomberg Government. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from McGill University in Montréal, Canada, and her Juris Doctorate, Certificate in International and Comparative Law, from Michigan State University College of Law. She is a member of the New York Bar and is published on several international legal and policy issues. Margaret is a recipient of the Superior Civilian Service Medal from the Judge Advocate General of the Navy, the Outstanding Civilian Service Medal from the Secretary of the Army, and the Richard R. Baxter Prize in military writing from the American Society of International Law.

Michael P. Scherer

Michael has over fifteen years of maritime uncrewed systems experience, including both USV’s and UUV’s, their control, payloads, and operations. At ASV Global, he scaled an autonomy architecture used on over a hundred self-driving boats and ships. Michael led and implemented the design, build, and commissioning of over a dozen USVs deployed to customers around the world in defense, scientific, and commercial sectors. After acquisition by L3Harris, he led technology developments for multiple medium and large unmanned surface vessel programs, and captured and managed a major US Navy USV program. Michael joined Chance Maritime Technologies in 2022 as a founding member and Chief Technology Officer. There, the team designed three new clean sheet high-power long-endurance open-ocean USV’s which are currently in operation. Michael holds a Masters of Science in Computer Science from Georgia Tech, and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida.

Nora, a seasoned professional with a background in military service and innovation, began as a combat medic in the German Air Force. She
pursued advanced studies in engineering and innovation management at the University of Stuttgart and robotics at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Transitioning to the defense industry, Nora served as a strategic advisor for Thales Germany, driving digital transformation and leading the Digital Pioneer Team. She played key roles as Head of System Engineering for Electronic
Key Management Systems and Head of Engineering for Laser Warning Applications, developing critical solutions for military asset protection.

Currently, Nora is the Section Head of the Innovation Hub at NATO’s Allied
Command Transformation (ACT). She leverages her technical expertise and strategic insight to advance NATO’s military innovation efforts. As a certified Innovation Practitioner from the University of Michigan, she combines deep technical knowledge with a passion for innovation to lead
transformative change in the defense sector.

Paul Lwin

Paul Lwin

Paul Lwin is a gradutate of the United States Naval Academy and a decorated Naval Flight Officer with combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan as the weapons systems officer on the EA-6B Prowler. As a Navy test pilot, he was credited with discovering hundreds of potential engineering defects in Navy aircraft.

With a strong background in machine learning and data science, he has been instrumental in Havoc's software-first strategy that enabled the company to bring a complete collaborative autonomy solution to market in just six months.

Paul was a political refugee from Myanmar, rescued by the United States at age 10. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, and an M.S. in Computer Science. He earned an MBA from the Yale School of Management.

Rear Admiral Michael Mattis

Rear Admiral Michael Mattis

Rear Admiral Mattis, from Fullerton, CA, graduated with distinction from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD in 1994 and Oxford University, England in 1996 as a FitzGerald Scholar. At sea, Mattis qualified in submarines, as a nuclear engineer and as a ballistic missile officer while serving on USS HENRY M. JACKSON (SSBN 730)(GOLD). He also deployed aboard USS ALABAMA (SSBN 731)(GOLD) and USS COLUMBUS (SSN 762) during his Junior Officer tour from 1998-2000.

Ashore, Mattis served on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, DC as an Assistant for Political-Military Affairs in 1994 and at the Naval Satellite Operations Center (NAVSOC), Point Mugu, CA from 2000-2002 as Satellite Operations Department Head and later Operations Director (N3/5/6). He transitioned to the Navy Reserve in 2003.

In the Navy Reserve, Mattis’ command tours include: Post-Major Command as Deputy Commander, NR Readiness and Mobilization Command (REDCOM) San Diego, NR Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) Space and Unmanned Systems West, NR Commander, THIRD Fleet (C3F) Headquarters (HQ), and NR Undersea Warfare Detachment, Salt Lake City. He also served at NR Undersea Warfare Operations Detachment Port Hueneme as Chief Staff Officer and as the Submarine Force Reserve Component Operational Planning Competency Lead, NR Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command (NMAWC) as Executive Officer, Operations Officer and Administrative Officer, and Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) 0466 as Operations Officer.
Returning to Active Duty in 2008-2009, Mattis, trained in Army Civil Affairs and deployed to Baghdad, Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) in support of the XVIII Airborne Corps/Multi-National Corps-Iraq (MNC-I) serving as MNC-I C9 (Civil Military Operations) Effects Assessment Officer, working as an Operational Level of War (OLW) planner for Non-Kinetic Effects, evaluating civil capacity across Iraq and coordinating assessments with the Department of State Office.

In 2020 Mattis returned to Active Duty supporting OPNAV N7 as the Space, Information Warfare and Integrated Fires Lead for the Tri-Service Maritime Strategy and led COVID-19 relief efforts in Los Angeles (LA) as the shore OIC and later Commander, Task Force-LA. He returned to Active Duty again in 2021-2022, serving as Director, Navy Space Command (NAVSPACE), leading the stand-up of NAVSPACE as the Navy Service Component to US Space Command (USSPACECOM). Mattis assumed his current roles as Director, Strategic Effects for Commander U.S. Naval Forces Europe/Africa and Commander, CTF-66 in October 2023.

Mattis’ awards include the Legion of Merit (3), Bronze Star Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal (4). He is a graduate of USMC Command and Staff College and Joint Forces Staff College Joint Professional Military Education programs, National Defense University Reserve Component National Security Course, Naval War College Executive Level OLW Course and Naval Postgraduate School Navy Senior Leader Seminar. Rear Admiral William Daly

Rear Adm. Bill Daly is a career Surface Warfare Officer and a native of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. He is a 1993 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, and has master’s degrees from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, where he was the Navy’s Arthur Moreau Scholar for International Relations, and from the United States Naval War College. At the Naval War College he was the American student selected for the first full-year curriculum of the international officer’s program at the Naval Staff College. RADM Daly was an MIT Seminar XXI fellow and a fellow at the Department of State Foreign Service Institute’s National Security Executive Leadership Seminar. He also completed extensive Executive Education at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
During his career, RADM Daly has operated with 72 militaries or governments, and has visited 34 nations in a work capacity. In addition to his operational tours, he has trained for and been utilized in jobs requiring expertise in political-military affairs, strategic planning, and financial management and resourcing.
Afloat, RADM Daly has deployed in every tour and to operational areas in the Middle East, Western and Eastern Asia, Europe, and South America while serving on numerous cruiser and destroyer type ships. He commanded USS Farragut (DDG 99), the famed Little Beavers of Destroyer Squadron 23, and Carrier Strike Group Fifteen (CSG 15).
Ashore, RADM Daly served on the staffs of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs (J8, Program and Budget Branch Chief), the Chief of Naval Operations (five tours), and the Commander, Pacific Fleet. From 2019-2021 he was the Chief of Staff to the Commander, Naval Surface Forces and Commander, Naval Surface Force Pacific Fleet. As a flag officer, he was the U.S. European Command Deputy Director for Strategy, Policy, and Plans (DJ5/8) from 2021-2023, and the Director of Surface Warfare (OPNAV) from 2024-2025. He is a proven Naval Strategy sub-specialist, a Financial Management (FM) sub-specialist (with emphasis on resourcing and requirements), and a Political-Military (POL-MIL) sub-specialist.
He assumed his role as Director, Integrated Warfare in July 2025. In this role his primary responsibility is to integrate the Navy’s warfighting capabilities investments to maximize lethality while maintaining a balanced budget.

Todd Graves

Mr. Todd Graves is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). Assuming this role in May 2024, he is responsible for driving the advancement of NSWCDD’s technical capabilities through investments, partnerships, and education. His responsibilities include guiding the future direction of technology investments and providing the vision and technical supervision of science and technology efforts executed by the NSWCDD workforce. He oversees the

warfare center’s innovation laboratory, academic partnering and technology transfer efforts.

Mr. Graves most recently served as the Deputy Department Head for the Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department providing leadership and oversight for the research, development, test, evaluation and delivery of electromagnetic and sensor systems solutions. Previously he was the Asymmetric Warfare Systems Division Head in the Weapons Systems Integration Department at NSWCDD. He was the project lead for the Battle Management System Program where he led the effort to develop and integrate the gun and precision guided weapons systems on AC-130 aircraft platforms for Special Operations Command and Air Force Special Operations Command.

Mr. Graves holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Mechanics from the U.S. Air Force Academy as well as an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College He is a graduate of the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal.

    WHAT IS CPD?

    CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development’. It is essentially a philosophy, which maintains that in order to be effective, learning should be organised and structured. The most common definition is:

    ‘A commitment to structured skills and knowledge enhancement for Personal or Professional competence’

    CPD is a common requirement of individual membership with professional bodies and Institutes. Increasingly, employers also expect their staff to undertake regular CPD activities.

    Undertaken over a period of time, CPD ensures that educational qualifications do not become obsolete, and allows for best practice and professional standards to be upheld.

    CPD can be undertaken through a variety of learning activities including instructor led training courses, seminars and conferences, e:learning modules or structured reading.

    CPD AND PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTES

    There are approximately 470 institutes in the UK across all industry sectors, with a collective membership of circa 4 million professionals, and they all expect their members to undertake CPD.

    For some institutes undertaking CPD is mandatory e.g. accountancy and law, and linked to a licence to practice, for others it’s obligatory. By ensuring that their members undertake CPD, the professional bodies seek to ensure that professional standards, legislative awareness and ethical practices are maintained.

    CPD Schemes often run over the period of a year and the institutes generally provide online tools for their members to record and reflect on their CPD activities.

    TYPICAL CPD SCHEMES AND RECORDING OF CPD (CPD points and hours)

    Professional bodies and Institutes CPD schemes are either structured as ‘Input’ or ‘Output’ based.

    ‘Input’ based schemes list a precise number of CPD hours that individuals must achieve within a given time period. These schemes can also use different ‘currencies’ such as points, merits, units or credits, where an individual must accumulate the number required. These currencies are usually based on time i.e. 1 CPD point = 1 hour of learning.

    ‘Output’ based schemes are learner centred. They require individuals to set learning goals that align to professional competencies, or personal development objectives. These schemes also list different ways to achieve the learning goals e.g. training courses, seminars or e:learning, which enables an individual to complete their CPD through their preferred mode of learning.

    The majority of Input and Output based schemes actively encourage individuals to seek appropriate CPD activities independently.

    As a formal provider of CPD certified activities, SAE Media Group can provide an indication of the learning benefit gained and the typical completion. However, it is ultimately the responsibility of the delegate to evaluate their learning, and record it correctly in line with their professional body’s or employers requirements.

    Increasingly, international and emerging markets are ‘professionalising’ their workforces and looking to the UK to benchmark educational standards. The undertaking of CPD is now increasingly expected of any individual employed within today’s global marketplace.
